About the Journal

Journal of Marketing Development (JMD) is a publication of the Department of Marketing of the Rivers State University and is wholly managed by the Department. The journal is knowledge-driven and is designed to capture wide readership. The aim of the journal is to publish and disseminate articles with relevant information that enrich the development and practice of Marketing, while simultaneously making significant contributions to the advancement of the discipline. Preference is given to manuscripts that relate to Marketing Development in business, service industries, nations and economies. All articles appearing in the journal undergo double-blind review and are refereed.

It should be noted that empiricism is not the only quality of acceptable articles. Case analysis, creative concepts and applications, book reviews, industry reviews, commentaries, and other thought-provoking manuscripts are also encouraged. The journal also accepts futuristic manuscripts that offer visions of the future of marketing, and practical roadmaps to get there. Manuscripts that address interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary topics and approaches, as well as those that approach traditional topics from interdisciplinary perspective are also encouraged.

 

Editorial Policy

Journal of Marketing Development (JMD) is a peer reviewed journal published by the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Administration and Management, Rivers State University Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The journal accepts paper in diverse areas of Marketing including, but not limited to Marketing Management, Consumer Behaviour, Digital Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management, Service Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality, International Marketing, Entrepreneurial Marketing, Branding and Brand Management, Marketing Strategy, etc. The journal aims to provide academics, researchers and practitioners an avenue to advance research through quality publications in the various disciplines.

Authors intending to publish articles in Journal of Marketing development are expected to conform to the following guidelines:

  1. Articles intended for publication in the journal must not have been published elsewhere, or under consideration in any other journal.
  2. Articles must be structured, and include an abstract not exceeding 250 word, which should define the purpose, methodology adopted, findings, conclusion and recommendations.
  3. Articles intended for publication in the journal must have at least 4 keywords.
  4. Articles intended for publication in the journal must not exceed 5,000 words.
  5. Articles intended for publication in the journal must comply with the APA style of referencing, 7th edition.
  6. Articles intended for publication in the journal must place all tables, figures and graphs at the appropriate sections of the article, not as appendices.
  7. Author(s) shall bear responsibility for obtaining copyright permission for any intellectual property used in their article.
  8. Author(s) shall bear responsibility for issues of plagiarism associated with their article.
  9. Author (s) must ensure that articles submitted for publication in the journal do not score higher than 15% similarity index.
