Abstract
This study investigated the correlation between information technology infrastructure and supply chain performance of upstream oil and gas companies in Nigeria. Supply chain performance was decomposed into service quality, operational efficiency and delivery speed. The study adopted a cross sectional research design. The study population comprised 24 upstream oil and gas companies operating in Nigeria. The study took a census. 3 copies of questionnaire were administered to the operations manager, ICT Director and technical director of each of the 24 companies, making a total of 72 respondents. The reliability of the instrument was determined via Cronbach Alpha test. All the items scored above 0.70. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to test the correlation between information technology infrastructure and measures of supply chain performance, with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0. The study revealed that information technology infrastructure had a significant correlation with supply chain performance. The study therefore concluded that information technology infrastructure significantly correlates with supply chain performance of upstream oil and gas companies in Nigeria; and recommends that managers of upstream oil and gas companies in Nigeria should utilize information technology for faster transactions that enhance supply chain performance.
